Accessibility

What we have built for assistive technology, what is still weak, and how to tell us where we fall short.

What we aim for

We target WCAG 2.2 level AA. The site is one column on small screens, works from the keyboard alone, respects your text size, and does not depend on colour alone to carry meaning.

What is in place

  • Every interactive control is reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
  • Text meets 4.5:1 contrast against its background; large headings meet 3:1.
  • Touch targets on phones are at least 44px.
  • Market names are text, not images, so screen readers and search engines both read them.
  • The map is a convenience, not the only route: every market on it also appears in the searchable list below, which supports search by name, city, county and ZIP.

Where we fall short

  • The state map relies on pointer interaction for pan and zoom; the list beneath it is the accessible equivalent rather than a keyboard path through the dots themselves.
  • Market logos come from the markets' own sites and some are images of text we cannot re-caption.
  • A few older listings have no confirmed hours, which reads as an absence rather than an explanation.

Tell us

If something here blocked you, write to [email protected] with the page and what happened. We answer accessibility reports first, ahead of other correspondence, and we will tell you what we can fix and when.
